| E. E. Cummings -You are tired- |
| Thursday, March 02, 2006 |
You are tired Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
You are tired, (I think) Of the always puzzle of living and doing; And so am I.
Come with me, then, And we’ll leave it far and far away– (Only you and I, understand!)
You have played, (I think) And broke the toys you were fondest of, And are a little tired now; Tired of things that break, and–Just tired. So am I.
But I come with a dream in my eyes tonight, And I knock with a rose at the hopeless gate of your heart– Open to me! For I will show you the places Nobody knows, And, if you like, The perfect places of Sleep.
Ah, come with me! I’ll blow you that wonderful bubble, the moon, That floats forever and a day; I’ll sing you the jacinth song Of the probable stars; I will attempt the unstartled steppes of dream, Until I find the Only Flower, Which shall keep (I think) your little heart While the moon comes out of the sea.
Labels: E.E. Who are you, little i... Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
Who are you,little i
(five or six years old) peering from some high
window: at the gold
of november sunset
(and feeling:that if day has to become night
this is a beautiful way)

| E. E. Cummings -My girl's tall with hard long eyes- |
|
My girl's tall with hard long eyes. Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
My girl's tall with hard long eyes as she stands, with her long hard hands keeping silence on her dress, good for sleeping is her long hard body filled with surprise like a white shocking wire, when she smiles a hard long smile it sometimes makes gaily go clean through me tickling aches, and the weak noise of her eyes easily files my impatience to an edge-my girl's tall and taut, with thin legs just like a vine that's spent all of its life on a garden-wall, and is going to die. When we grimly go to bed with these legs she begins to heave and twine about me, and to kiss my face and head.
Labels: E.E. Cummings |

I like my body when... Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
I like my body when it is with your body. It is so quite a new thing. Muscles better and nerves more. I like your body. I like what it does, I like its hows. I like to feel the spine of your body and its bones, and the trembling -firm-smooth ness and which i will again and again and again kiss, i like kissing this and that of you, I like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes over parting flesh . . . . And eyes big love-crumbs,
and possibly i like the thrill
of under me you quite so new
Me gusta tu cuerpo.
Cummings |

If you like my poems let them... Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
If you like my poems let them walk in the evening,
a little behind youthen people will say "Along this road i saw a princess pass on her way to meet her lover (it was toward nightfall) with tall and ignorant servants."
Cummings |

I carry your heart with me Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (anywhere I go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) I fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) I want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart)
If strangers meet... Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
If strangers mee tlife begins- not poor not rich (only aware) kind neither nor cruel (only complete) i not not you not possible; only truthful- truthfully, once if strangers (who deep our most are selves) touch: forever (and so to dark)

Since feeling is first... Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
Since feeling is first who pays any attention to the syntax of things will never wholly kiss you;
wholly to be a fool while Spring is in the world
my blood approves, and kisses are a better fate than wisdom lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry - the best gesture of my brain is less than your eyelids' flutter which says
we are for each other; then laugh, leaning back in my arms for life's not a paragraph
And death i think is no parenthesis
Porque el sentimiento está primero...
Porque el sentimiento está primero quién preste atención a la sintaxis de las cosas nunca va a completamente besarte;

| E. E. Cummings -Because I love you- |
|
Because I love you Edward Estlin Cummings (1894-1962)
(because i love you) last night
clothed in sealace appeared to m eyour mind drifting with chuckling rubbish of pearl weed coral and stones;
lifted,and (before my eyes sinking) inward, fled; softly your face smile breasts gargled by death: drowned only
again carefully through deepness to rise these your wrists thighs feet hands
poising to again utterly disappear; rushing gently swiftly creeping through my dreams last night,all of yourbody with its spirit floated (clothed only in the tide's acute weaving murmur)
Porque te amo
(porque te amo) la otra noche
ataviada en encaje de mar se apareció ante mí tu mente a la deriva entre alegres despojos de perlas algas piedras y corales;
