Time, rhythm
Of forms that open,
Forms that pass,
Perfect or marred,
The food of the God
Is on the world,
Terrible dancer
Whose trampling tread
Crushes evil and good,
The flow of his river
Is in our blood,
End and beginning,
A beat of the heart
Our all, our nothing.
Destroyer of worlds,
The purifier,
His step indifferent,
His garment red.
Nataraja
Tiempo, ritmo
De formas que se abren,
Formas que pasan,
Perfectas o dañadas,
El pie del Dios
Está sobre el mundo,
Terrible danzante
Cuyas hollantes huellas
Aplastan el bien y el mal,
El fluir de su río
En nuestra sangre está,
Fin y principio
Latido del corazón
Nuestro todo, nuestra nada.
Destructor de mundos,
Purificador,
Su paso indiferente,
Su atuendo rojo.
